What are chastity piercings?

Chastity piercings refer to a combination of multiple intimate piercings that are placed in such a way that a lock or other connecting device can be threaded through the piercing jewellery — typically rings. This creates a symbolic or light physical closure of the intimate area.

It is important to emphasise that chastity piercings do not constitute an absolutely secure locking system. They are not comparable to a mechanical chastity device. Rather, they are a symbolic and aesthetic element within consensual relationship dynamics, intended to express trust, belonging and connection.

In the kink and BDSM community, chastity piercings are an established practice that goes hand in hand with respect, communication and clear agreements between all parties involved. At XS Piercing, we approach this topic with the same professionalism and respect as any other piercing.

Common configurations

Chastity piercings are individually planned and adapted to the anatomy and wishes of the wearer. The most common configurations include:

Outer labia — Symmetrical pairs

The most common variant: Two to four piercings through the outer labia (labia majora), placed symmetrically on both sides. A small padlock or a special connecting pin can be threaded through the opposing rings.

  • 2 piercings (1 pair): Minimal configuration — one ring on each side, connected by a lock.
  • 4 piercings (2 pairs): More common variant — two pairs of rings for a more stable and even closure.
  • 6+ piercings (3+ pairs): Less common, provides more complete coverage and is considered particularly aesthetic.

Extended configurations

In addition to the labia pairs, further piercings can be integrated:

  • Fourchette as anchor: A fourchette piercing at the posterior vaginal entrance can serve as an additional anchor point, through which a chain or ring is threaded from the back to the front closure.
  • Christina as upper anchor: A Christina piercing on the mons pubis can be used as an upper attachment point for chains or decorative elements.
  • Custom configurations: Depending on wishes and anatomy, numerous other combinations are possible. We provide detailed advice on the options.

Jewellery and closures

For chastity piercings, only high-quality jewellery made from implant-grade titanium (ASTM F136) is used, designed for long-term wear in the body:

  • Ball Closure Rings (BCR): Rings with a ball clamp that can be easily opened and closed. They are particularly well-suited as they provide enough space to thread a lock through.
  • Segment Rings: Rings with a hinged segment that offer a smoother finish and are also suitable for closure systems.
  • Padlocks: Small locks specially made for this purpose from medical-grade stainless steel or titanium. These are lightweight, skin-compatible and available in various sizes.
  • Connecting chains: Decorative chains made from hypoallergenic material that can be stretched between the rings — as an aesthetic element or as a light physical connection.

Material quality

Especially for piercings that are worn for extended periods with locks or additional jewellery, material quality is crucial. We use exclusively biocompatible materials and strongly advise against cheap jewellery from the internet, which can cause allergies, inflammation or tissue rejection.

Procedure and planning

Planning chastity piercings is more extensive than for individual piercings and requires a detailed consultation:

  1. Initial consultation: In a thorough discussion, we talk about your wishes, the desired configuration and assess anatomical suitability. We explain the various options and give an honest assessment of what is realistic and sensible.
  2. Consent check: We ensure that the decision is autonomous and voluntary. This conversation always takes place in private with the client, regardless of whether a partner accompanies them.
  3. Scheduling: Since multiple piercings are rarely done in one session, we create a schedule with multiple appointments. Typically, 1-2 piercings are placed per session, with a healing interval of at least 6-8 weeks between sessions.
  4. Step-by-step procedure: At each appointment, the piercings are performed with local anaesthesia under sterile conditions. The positioning is carefully planned so that the rings are precisely aligned at the end.
  5. Completion and adjustment: Once all piercings are fully healed, the closure jewellery can be fitted and the final configuration tested.

Healing with multiple piercings

Healing multiple intimate piercings requires special attention:

  • Individual healing times: Each piercing heals independently. Outer labia piercings typically require 6-8 weeks per piercing. The total duration until all piercings are healed can be several months.
  • Increased care: With multiple fresh piercings in the same area, the risk of infection is somewhat elevated. Thorough and regular cleaning is particularly important.
  • Sexual abstinence: During the entire healing phase of all piercings, sexual abstinence in the intimate area is required. With a staggered approach, this can mean a longer total period of abstinence.
  • Closure only after complete healing: Inserting locks or connecting elements must only be done when all piercings are fully healed. Premature closure can lead to tears, inflammation and complications.

Planning tip

Allow enough time for the entire process. From the initial consultation to full completion and healing of all piercings, typically 4 to 6 months will pass. Patience is the key to a successful and comfortable result.

Consent and ethics

At XS Piercing, mutual consent is the absolute prerequisite for chastity piercings. We take this matter extremely seriously and implement the following principles:

  • Legal age: Chastity piercings are performed exclusively on persons aged 18 and over. ID verification is mandatory.
  • Free will: The decision must come from the person receiving the piercing. Pressure, coercion or manipulation by third parties is unacceptable under any circumstances.
  • Private conversation: We always conduct a conversation alone with the client to ensure that there is no external influence. This is part of our standard protocol and is non-negotiable.
  • Right of withdrawal: Every client can cancel the procedure at any time — even during the appointment — without giving reasons. No costs are incurred in case of cancellation.
  • Right of refusal: We reserve the right to refuse the procedure if we have doubts about voluntariness or consider the situation concerning.

Frequently asked questions

Can all piercings be done in one session?

Generally, we recommend not getting all piercings in a single session. The body has to cope with healing multiple wounds simultaneously, which can prolong recovery time and increase the risk of complications. During the consultation, we discuss a sensible schedule that typically involves 2-3 sessions spaced 6-8 weeks apart.

What piercing combinations are most common?

The most common configuration for chastity piercings consists of two to four outer labia piercings placed symmetrically opposite each other. A lock can be threaded through the rings. Alternatively, combinations of outer labia piercings with an additional piercing (e.g., fourchette) can also be used.

How secure is such a piercing system?

It is important to understand that chastity piercings do not constitute a high-security locking system. Piercings can be torn out under force and are not designed as a coercive measure. They serve as a symbolic and consensual element within an existing relationship of trust. At XS Piercing, we place the utmost importance on ensuring that chastity piercings are performed exclusively within the framework of mutual consent.

Do both partners need to be present at the consultation?

No, the presence of both partners is not mandatory, but welcome. What matters is that the person receiving the piercing is of legal age and acting of their own free will. In any case, we also conduct the consultation privately with the client alone to ensure that the decision is made autonomously and without external pressure.
